“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”

- John C. Maxwell

YEP, the Midwest’s premier entrepreneurial-experience-focused internship, launched its program in Kansas City in 2017 with the goal of developing a strong cohort of talented youth whose experiences in the program would encourage them to become part of the long-term fabric of the business community. Since its inception, we have served over 100 scholars from over 26 different high schools across the Kansas City metro area, the majority of whom are finishing their academic careers at universities across the US, including: the University of Kansas, the University of Missouri, George Washington University, Tulane University, Villanova University, Stanford University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University.

“Our scholars are exposed to business environments that will challenge and teach them, as well as help shape their growth and decision-making regarding education and career choice.”

YEP goes beyond a typical internship to provide you with unique OPPORTUNITIES that will lay the FOUNDATION for your future as an ENTREPRENEUR.

What WE bring to the table…

YEP (Young Entrepreneurs Program) is a hands-on summer internship program for high school students that focuses on entrepreneurial thinking and development through practical experience. The working experience and exposure each student will acquire during their time with YEP makes this an internship program unlike any other.

WHEN

YEP is divided into two sessions during the summer:

Session 1: June 2nd to June 27th

Session 2: July 7th to August 1st

Students can participate in one or both of the sessions, and will be placed at the same internship for the duration of the session(s). The time between the two sessions is for the students to enjoy a break. Students are expected to work 40-hour weeks.

Money

Students will receive a $2,500 scholarship ($1,250 per session) upon completion of the program and compensation of $12 per hour.
